Information

Here are just a couple facts about our department: We usually preform 4 shows a year: a fall, winter, and spring production, plus a competition show or two! In the fall we do a play, for the winter we perform some student directed / written productions, and in the spring we will do a musical. Also, our chapter of the International Thespian Society (ITS) is growing each year!

What are people saying?

Mariah Waters - Cappies Critic: Rock Ridge High School

"Lightridge could not have been blasted to the past without the tremendous work of the set (lead by Isabella Martin), lighting (lead by Christian Ewaldsen), and costume designers (lead by Bailey Mitchell)."

Sofia Stanziola - Cappies Critic: Stone Bridge High School

"Albert Peterson and his secretary Rose, portrayed by Brandon Foley and Lily Selvaraj, brought their quirky characters alive by fulfilling the audience with a heartwarming romance."

About Our Director

We are a new high school and a new theatre program with a seasoned veteran director. Brandon Kalbaugh, our theatre director, has founded a theatre company in NYC called Two-Spoons Theatre Company. Locally, he has directed shows in LCPS at Broad Run HS and Mercer MS and has worked with the Young Actors Theatre at RCC, Pied Piper Theatre, the Washington National Opera and Encore Theatrical Arts Project. He also writes plays and musicals for all ages. Helping our program succeed, Mr. Kalbaugh gives us great advice from past teaching roles and even from advice given to him throughout his career.
